There are still very few “one size fits all” situations when it comes to climate change consulting - We work with individual clients to determine the products and services most appropriate to them. Although we offer a range of standardised products and services, including sophisticated decision-support tools and models, the group specialises in designing customised client solutions for widely varying regulatory, voluntary and market branding needs.

EcoSecurities Global Consulting Services division includes several distinct service areas:

Corporate Climate Services

The Corporate Services group works with clients to investigate climate change from risk management and business opportunity perspectives. We provide decision support services that help assess corporate risks to establish the basis for better internal decision-making, including, for example, development of forward price curves and analysis of project and general business opportunities. Climate change policy will create winners and losers, but by being appropriately positioned, companies can significantly affect where they land on the win/lose continuum. GCS’ Corporate Services group helps companies develop a mitigation strategy that is based on a company’s own GHG goals and objectives. Our expertise includes:

• Bringing companies up the climate change learning curve through briefings and seminars
• Supporting corporate GHG inventories and emissions forecasting
• Staffing internal corporate task forces relating to climate change policy
• Assessing internal emissions reductions options
• Implementing sophisticated positioning strategies that allow for rapid market entry in the future and enhanced competitive advantage
• GHG market analysis, scenario building, and forecasting
• Identifying external reduction, offset, and portfolio opportunities and strategies

EcoSecurities has a suite of tools and services proven in their ability to help companies assess specific risks and opportunities.

Ecosystem Services

The forestry sector has a longstanding interest in climate change policy. Most of the early CO2 mitigation projects were in the forestry and land-use sectors, since tree planting was initially perceived as one of the easiest ways to mitigate climate change.

There are a variety of means by which EcoSecurities can support forestry sector companies in responding to the uncertainties around climate change policy:

• Carrying out a GHG inventory that can help a company assess its potential opportunities and risks under alternative policy scenarios.
• To the extent a company has already developed carbon-based scenarios for internal planning purposes, EcoSecurities can help review these figures and projections in the context of an Assumptions Audit. Clients have found an Assumptions Audit helpful in checking internal thinking against a third-party view of policy and market scenarios and associated corporate assets and liabilities.
