  UN Climate Change Talks in Bonn
 
The UN Climate Change Talks in Bonn concluded on Friday 12th June.
Yvo de Boer, Executive Secretary of the United Nations Framework Convention in Climate Change (UNFCCC) stated “In my view, an ambitious and effective agreed outcome in Copenhagen is in sight - an outcome that provides a strong and definitive answer to the alarm raised by the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.”

  EcoSecurities registers the largest project under the Gold Standard
 
Rotor Elektrik Uretim wind farm in Osmaniye, Turkey has been registered under the Gold Standard. The projects Gold Standard Verified Emission Reductions (VERs) will be retired for entities seeking to offset their emission from high quality projects with tangible social and environmental benefits.
 
Zorlu Enerji has constructed the first phase of the project which currently has 15 turbines already operating generating 37.5 MW of electricity. During the course of this year and into 2010 a further 39 wind turbines will be installed resulting in 54 wind turbines in total, generating 135 MW of electricity and saving around 300,000 tonnes of carbon dioxide (CO2) per year.
 
 
  Greening and neutralising the rich and famous
 
EcoSecurities and ARC Sustainability recently collaborated in greening and neutralising the carbon emissions which resulted from the Producers Guild of America (PGA) Produced by 2009 Conference.
 
The conference held June 5 -7, 2009 was presented by the PGA and hosted by Sony Pictures Studios and Paramount Studios. It brought together the entire producing profession – from acclaimed Oscar and Emmy winners, to the next generation of creative entrepreneurs. Read more…
