Job Summary

The Analyst, Carbon Technical will support the company in the implementation of various projects, including the development of REDD+ and NBS projects. Main Responsibilities

  • Provide technical assistance to the company's clients in the development of NBS projects.

  • Participate in the development of project proposals, including the identification of project components, project design, and the development of monitoring and evaluation plans.

  • Conduct feasibility assessments for potential NBS projects.

  • Contribute to the preparation of carbon accounting reports and verification processes for NBS projects.

  • Provide technical support in the implementation of NBS projects, including the development of community-based forest management plans and the establishment of carbon monitoring systems.

  • Contribute to the development of communication materials and outreach activities to promote NBS projects.

  • Support the commercial team with tools and information for rapid assessments.


Candidate Profile

  • Highly collaborative approach to working across teams (located across geographies) to achieve the best results.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently.

  • Interest, enthusiasm and willingness to work and grow in an entrepreneurial environment with a reputable brand within the global carbon markets.

  • Carbon market, environmental finance and / or commodity market experience a plus.

  • Proficiency in the English language is required for the role.


Qualifications


Essential

  • A Bachelor's and/or Master's degree in environmental science, forestry, ecology, or a related field.

  • Knowledge of the principles and concepts of carbon finance, carbon accounting, and NBS project development is an asset.

Desirable

  • Experience in carbon projects.

  • Experience conducting geographic information system (GIS) analyses.

  • Knowledge in Soil Carbon Sequestration and modelling.

  • Experience in conducting feasibility assessments and developing project proposals.


Experience

  • A minimum of two years of professional experience in NBS/conservation projects or related fields.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong analytical, research, and writing skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Word, Excel, MS project, (all Microsoft 365 tools).

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

  • Proficiency in English is required, and proficiency in other languages would be an asset.
