Job Summary


This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most established and high growth companies in the voluntary carbon market. The Business Development Associate will contribute leading the origination process of new projects via contact with landowners for reforestation projects, degraded pastures or areas with native forest for conservation projects. Main Responsibilities

  • Originate with landowners of medium and large rural properties;

  • Create relationship with local partners;

  • Conducting meetings and maintain relationships with prospects/clients during negotiation of projects;

  • Negotiate commercial conditions and contracts. Responsible for managing negotiations until the contract is signed.

  • Prepare proposals, presentations, spreadsheets for feasibility and price analysis and contract review; and

  • Keep records of business development activity in the Client Relationship Management software;

  • Participate on the definition of the Go-to-market strategy, being responsible for it execution on the ground.


Candidate Profile

  • Highly collaborative approach to working across teams (located across geographies) to achieve the best results;

  • Self-starter, able to work independently;

  • Interest, enthusiasm and willingness to work and grow in an entrepreneurial environment with a reputable brand within the global carbon markets;

  • Carbon market, environmental finance and / or commodity market experience a plus

  • Advanced English speaker.



  • Graduated in sciences, business administration, economics, engineer, or law;

  • Experience in origination of agribusiness opportunities;

  • Experience in contract negotiation and relationship management.


  • Experience in carbon projects;

  • Experience in area acquisition or commodities supply.


  • Minimum of 5 years of business development experience, with a strong preference for a background in carbon industry.

Skills and Knowledge

  • Expertise in Power Point;

  • Proficient in Excel for price and opportunity analysis;

  • Project management and negotiations;

  • Flexibility to travel;

  • Motivated by results and able to manage a schedule of visits;

  • Proactive;

  • Clear and assertive communication (written and verbal); and

  • Relationship management.
