Colombia – Soil Carbon & Agriculture

Full project name: Carbono Rural
Location: Colombia
Project Partner:

Impact on region/communities:
A highly scalable Agricultural Land Management (ALM) program across farmlands in Cordoba, Magdalena Medio and the Andean-Amazonian Piedmont region in Colombia.
The project will increase soil and biomass carbon sequestration through the implementation of silvopastoral systems that integrate trees and livestock production, in a way that supports ecosystem health, biodiversity, farm profitability, and resilience.
Carbon standard/verification: Verified Carbon Standard (VCS)
Size/scale: 300,000 hectares of farmland
CO2e to be removed: 9,200,000 (tCO2e total)
Timescale: 30 years
