Job Summary


This is a unique opportunity to join one of the most established and high growth companies in the voluntary carbon market. The Associate, Technical will play a critical role in the supporting on the development of our portfolio of existing carbon projects within West Africa. The role will require technical skills and analyses in renewable energy solutions, forest carbon, blue carbon, ecosystem services and natural resource management to develop high impact and innovative carbon development projects. Working across various geographies will require the role holder to be versatile and quick to learn about current and emerging voluntary carbon standards, methodologies and procedural requirements to ensure compliance and development of projects of the highest integrity and quality. Main Responsibilities

  • Execute carbon projects in the West Africa region.

  • Work in close collaboration with the ecosecurities’ teams in the other geographical regions where ecosecurities has offices.

  • Contribute to periodic reports and assessments on progress against project development for internal and external audiences.

  • Identify and communicate key findings and recommendations of project deliverables to internal team members.

  • Participate in technical committee discussions on developments in the voluntary carbon market standards and methodologies and UNFCCC developments.

  • Other tasks as directed by the ecosecurities Regional Director, Africa region.


Candidate Profile

  • Highly collaborative approach to working across teams (located across geographies) to achieve the best results.

  • Self-starter, able to work independently.

  • Interest, enthusiasm and willingness to work and grow in an entrepreneurial environment with a reputable brand within the global carbon markets.

  • Carbon market, environmental finance and / or commodity market experience a plus.

  • Proficiency in the English language is required for the role.


Qualifications


Essential

  • A degree related to natural resources.

  • Other qualifications relevant to the role.

Desirable

  • Experience in carbon projects.

  • Any professional qualification in project management or environmental, social and governance (ESG).

Experience

  • +2 years experience in executing nature-based solutions.


Skills and Knowledge

  • Report writing skills.

  • Analytical skills.

  • Working in a multi-cultural environment.

  • Being a team player.
